Human Rights Ombudsman continues to facilitate humanitarian assistance

On Wednesday, 10 October, representatives of the DPR Ombudsman Office handed over 368 humanitarian relief packages to people affected by the armed conflict.

The packages that included food and hygiene products were delivered to people residing in Long-term Accommodation Centres located at 6a Kaluzhskaya Str., Donetsk. People whose dwellings had been destroyed due to hostilities or whose homes are located too close to the contact line, as well as former prisoners of war, reside in the Accommodation Centre.

DPR Human Rights Ombudsman pays special attention to persons affected by the armed conflict. Thanks to collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross, citizens received not only humanitarian relief packages but also outerwear and necessary household items, other humanitarian assistance is provided as well.

Also, efforts are being made to improve the living conditions. For example, in the above-mentioned Long-term Accommodation Centre, the windows were partially replaced with plastic ones, a room was provided for conducting military-patriotic club meetings, and the agreement was reached that the residents can use the nearby gym free-of-charge.
