In 2018, Mr. M. approached the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic for assistance in restoring his constitutional rights in terms of pension provision. The applicant, being a former employee of one of the government bodies of the DPR, after his retirement, faced with an obstacle in formalizing pension payments due to him. Throughout 2018-2019 this issue was the subject of consideration by the courts of various instances of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
With assistance from the Human Rights Ombudsman and the Prosecutor General’s Office, the constitutional right of Mr. M. to social security was restored.
Thus, since October 2019, the DPR Pension Fund provides the payment due to the applicant. In addition, the previously unpaid amount has been fully reimbursed.
