Human rights activists of the DPR and the Russian Federation discussed the situation with the rights of citizens arriving in Russia in search of asylum

Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR Daria Morozova, as well as employees of her Office, took part in an expanded meeting of the section on international cooperation and protection of the rights of migrants of the Expert Council under the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation on the topic: “Improving the legal regulation of the situation of persons arriving to the territory of Russia in search of asylum.

Within the framework of the working seminar, first of all, issues related to the draft Federal Law “On the Granting of Asylum on the Territory of the Russian Federation” were raised. In particular, they discussed:

— problems and legal regulation of the situation of persons arriving from the territories of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine to the territory of Russia;

— issues of improving Russian legislation in terms of obtaining a temporary residence permit, residence permit, citizenship of the Russian Federation;

— ways to simplify the procedure for entry into the territory of the Russian Federation of citizens of the Republics and Ukraine who have entry restrictions;

— issues related to the realization of the right of citizens of the DPR, LPR and Ukraine to social and medical support.
