St. Nicholas has always been considered to be the protector of children. Every year, children throughout the world look forward to this Day to receive presents from St. Nicolas. Their eyes always light up when they look under the pillow, hoping to get a present. They believe that St. Nicholas puts the presents under their pillow at night. It seems adults believe in this magic, too.
