Greeting from DPR Ombudsman on Republic Day

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the fourth anniversary of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

May 11, 2014, Donbass people took a brave step and showed the whole world that they are ready to defend their interests and remain committed to their homeland. This Day marked the start of a new history of our young state. We have withstood these difficult four years, and we have become stronger.

Now our Republic is ready for further development. After all, our main wealth and the main motivation are hardworking and talented people who are dedicated to their homeland. The protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens is a priority for any rule-of-law state.

We have already done a lot to ensure that every citizen is confident that his/her rights and freedoms shall be respected and secured by the state, and that the Republic shall remain a place of consent and mutual understanding. We will keep going, and I am sure that we will succeed thanks to our daily joint work.

I wish you all mental fortitude, good health, realization of hopes, harmony and mutual understanding, and stability and prosperity to our young state.

Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
