Greeting from Daria Morozova on Independence Day in the Donetsk People’s Republic

News

Dear fellow citizens, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on Independence Day in the Donetsk People’s Republic!

Five years ago, on 7 April 2014, the Act on the Proclamation of State Independence of the Donetsk People’s Republic was issued. This started a new chapter in the history of Donbass and shaped its future development. The path to sovereignty was thorny and challenging.

As a result of a coup d’état in Ukraine, a new regime came to power, which rained down the full might of its army and security forces against peaceful citizens. Against those who expressed their disagreement with the nationalist ideology, intolerance, distortion of historical facts, changing cultural values, disrespect to human rights and freedoms.

The Donetsk People’s Republic not only overcame this challenge, but it has confidently embarked on the path of strengthening statehood, social and economic development and enhanced integration with the Russian Federation – its largest strategic partner.

I wish peace and prosperity, well-being and success to all citizens of Donbass. We are strong thanks to our unity, hard-working nature, love of the Motherland and devotion in the service of our land. May every day bring us closer to the fulfillment of ideas and hopes, which have become a basis for the creation of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
