FACTS OF AFU WAR CRIMES RECORDED IN THE LIBERATED TERRITORIES WILL BE A BASE FOR THE FUTURE TRIBUNAL – DARIA MOROZOVA (VIDEO)

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

The ban on the senseless destruction of civilian infrastructure is enshrined in the Geneva Conventions and their additional protocols and is supported by the civilized world. Its violation is considered a war crime. However, for Ukraine, the norms and requirements recognized by the world community are an empty phrase. And this was clearly shown by the events in Volnovakha.

Retreating, the AFU almost completely destroyed the city. According to preliminary estimates, the housing stock suffered by 85%. Many buildings are impossible to repair. All 19 social facilities were damaged. The fact that this was done on purpose is confirmed by numerous eyewitness accounts. Ukrainian militants deliberately deployed their forces and equipment in residential areas, making civilian objects targets. And what survived during the hostilities was shot by aimed fire in cold blood.

I would like to remind the leadership of Ukraine and all the battalion commanders who were in Volnovakha and other cities of Donbass that war crimes have no statute of limitations. All the facts that we are now fixing will be a base for the future tribunal. All perpetrators will receive the punishment they deserve.
