Employees of the State cultural institution “Donetsk Republican Art Museum” conducted two excursions of the exhibition of Western European painting for 26 young residents of social housing objects located in 6a Kaluzhskaya street, Donetsk, and 153, 50 let SSSR Str. The exhibition features about 50 original paintings of the XVI-XIX centuries made by famous artists of Austria, Germany, Holland, Italy and France, as well as copies of works by Correggio, Raphael, Rembrandt and Rubens from the collection of the Donetsk Republican Art Museum.

For children of preschool and primary school age, the excursion was conducted in the form of an exciting adventure game. “It was really exciting! We used a map to move from one picture to another, we have learned many interesting things.  The museum is amazing!”, said one of the children.

In addition, visitors enjoyed a photo exhibition named “Life as a Miracle”, prepared by the project office of the Economic Cybernetics Department of Donetsk National Technical University.

A volunteer psychologist who took part in organizing the event thanked the staff of the Donetsk Republican Art Museum for these exciting excursions and the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic for assistance in organizing the free-of-charge visits to the exhibition. “Such events allow wresting children from the digital world, where they usually hide from the today’s reality and acquaint them with the arts.
That is one of the best ways of doing so,” she underlined. She expressed hope for further co-operation in the field of social and cultural support of citizens affected by the armed conflict in Donbass.
