The representatives of the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic checked the conditions of stay, social services and medical assistance to citizens who are in the Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital. In the course of the visit, human rights workers talked with the senior management of the medical institution, discussed issues of organizing the provision of medical care, household, medical and sanitary support for patients.
Currently, the Hospital is one of the largest healthcare institutions in the Donetsk People’s Republic, providing the full range of specialized psychiatric care to the population of the Republic (advisory, outpatient, inpatient), as well as institutional advice to psychiatrists from other psychiatric hospitals.
The institution is equipped with everything necessary to provide full medical care to those in need. Also, the hospital in its structure has general psychiatric departments and republican highly specialized centres.
As a result of the visit, no acute problematic issues were identified. However, some premises of the departments are in need of partial cosmetic repairs, which have already been brought to the attention of the competent authorities. In the future, it is planned to make a return visit to this institution.
Employees of the Ombudsman’s Office express their gratitude to the management and staff of the Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital for the conscientious performance of their duties.
