Ombudsman Office in the Donetsk People’s Republic informs that the Temporary Provision on Passport of a Citizen of the Donetsk People’s Republic has been amended according to the Resolution of the Presidium of the DPR Council of Ministers of 05.03.2018
The procedure for obtaining a passport of a DPR citizen has been simplified for persons recognized as prisoners of war or for those who received a document confirming illegal detention in the territory of Ukraine issued by the DPR Ministry of Defense.
We would like to add that citizens of the above-mentioned category have to approach the local office of the Migration Service, where the applicant is registered or is going to register by place of residence, in order to apply for a passport.
When applying to the Migration Service, the applicant is required to provide a certificate of the stipulated kind recognizing the person as a prisoner of war or a certificate issued by the DPR Ministry of Defense confirming the fact of illegal detention in the territory of Ukraine.
