The humanitarian situation remains critical in parts of Donbass that are under control of Ukraine, according to the DPR Human Rights Ombudsman, representative of the Donetsk People’s Republic to the Minsk Humanitarian Subgroup Daria Morozova.

“The situation in the part of Donbass temporary controlled by Ukrainian authorities remains critical, and I am really concerned with problems that citizens face,” she said.

She added that the ungrounded arrests of civilians by security services of Ukraine, frequent raids and searches, looting, seizure of detached houses by Ukrainian servicemen, high prices on food and utilities – to name but a few challenges faced by residents of the region.

We remind that since May there has been a water shortage in the territory of Donbass controlled by Kiev, which has worsened the humanitarian situation in the region. As a result of electricity cuts in a number of objects of Communal Enterprise “Voda Donbassa Company”, tens of thousands of citizens were left without drinking water. In this regard, the DPR has repeatedly voiced concern over the threat of an ecological catastrophy.
