DPR dissatisfied with the exchange list proposed by Kiev

Kiev made an unacceptable proposal to the Donetsk People’s Republic for prisoner exchange, says DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova.

“Yesterday we received an unacceptable proposal for the exchange from the Ukrainian side. The exchange list (list of LDPR supporters – IF), proposed by Kiev, includes newly-detained people, who have not yet been confirmed, one person sentenced for particularly grave crimes and people irrelevant to the so-called ATO,” she said.

For their part, DPR authorities provided the Ukrainian side with a list of 80 LDPR supporters, demanded for the exchange.

“Earlier, we provided a list of 84 persons to Ukraine. Now we demand 80 persons in the territory of Ukraine, since one person has been released and three other have served their sentence, and we found evidence,” said the DPR Ombudsman.

According to the Ombudsman, DPR authorities proposed Kiev to avoid placing people in categories based on the gravity of the offence.

“We demand that the Ukrainian side stop placing people in categories. We must avoid categorizing. The Ukrainian side is still trying to use categories,” she added.

Daria Morozova announced that the next round of negotiations will take place on February 14, in Minsk. All parties’ propositions for the prisoner exchange will be discussed.

“We remain committed to the sixth paragraph of Minsk negotiations – “all confirmed for all confirmed”. Anyway, it is impossible to perform the exchange under “all for all” format, because people continue to be detained,” the DPR Ombudsman underlined.
