Donetsk to hand over convicts who wish to continue serving their sentence in Ukraine

Tomorrow, July 21, the State Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Human Rights Ombudsman Office will transfer 23 convicts from penitentiary institutions in the DPR to the Ukrainian side.

“Representatives of the State Penitentiary Service and the Ombudsman Office will once again hand over convicts to serve their sentences in Ukraine. The transfer will take place tomorrow. I remind that the transfer of convicts is carried out according to the Decree of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic No. 424 of 12 March 2015,” said Daria Morozova, Human Rights Ombudsman in the DPR.

“23 people expressed a desire to serve their sentences in prisons of the neighbouring state,” the DPR Ombudsman added.
