Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

At the meeting of the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk, on February 1, the representatives of Donetsk will raise the issue of safety of relatives of the DPR serviceman, who, under the supervision of the Ministry of State Security, was recruited by security services of Ukraine. This was announced today at the briefing in press center of DAN by the Human Rights Ombudsman Daria Morozova.

“I’ve already asked international organizations, such as the UN, ICRC, to ensure that the parents of Eduard Klypa will not be subjected to pressure from the SSU. I will definitely raise this issue at the meeting of the humanitarian subgroup, which is scheduled for tomorrow. We will involve Minsk either”, – explained the Ombudsman.

According to Morozova, international organizations have already acceded to the request. The Ombudsman expressed a hope that Ukrainian special services will not trouble the seniors – mother and father of the DPR serviceman.

Earlier, it has been reported that the Ministry of State Security had prevented a terroristic attack on 28 January. The special services of Ukraine tried to organize it in one of the military units of the Republic. It has been established that the SSU officers had found the DPR serviceman Eduard Klypa, and demanded information about the amount of equipment, personnel and other data, threatening the safety of his relatives, who live in occupied Mariupol. After that, Klypa immediately appealed to the Ministry of State Security (MSS) of the Donetsk People’s Republic. For 1.5 years the Ukrainian secret services considered Klypa to be their recruited agent, but activities of the DPR serviceman were controlled by the staffs of the MSS. Thanks to this, the SSU received inaccurate information, and the act of terrorism was prevented.
