Dear citizens!

On behalf of the Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on our holiday, on the Republic Day, on one of the most important and significant state holidays. Today we are celebrating the establishment our Republic, which we created ourselves and which we are proud of. On May 11, three years ago, the people of Donbass made its choice. More than 90% of the citizens expressed their views in the public referendum for the sovereignty of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Our strong stand, patriotism, dedication and love for the Motherland – all this cements the unity and independence of our Republic. We sincerely love our Motherland and work for its benefit. We believe in what we do. The people of the Donetsk People’s Republic are the most courageous, spirited, brave and valiant.

May 11 is the date that marks the beginning of cardinal transformations and historical changes for residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Like everything new, this period is rather tough for the residents of the Republic. But, no matter what, we managed to prove that we are worthy of our ancestors, and confidently move towards Victory. We clearly state our principles and defend them with confidence.

Together, we will overcome all difficulties and build a solid, independent, law-based and prosperous state!

Happy holiday, dear compatriots!

Peace to all of us!

Yours faithfully, Daria Morozova, the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic!
