DARIA MOROZOVA VISITED SERVICEMEN OF DPR PM RETURNED FROM UKRAINIAN CAPTIVITY

Comments and statements of the Ombudsman News

I spent the whole day talking with the defenders of the DPR, who yesterday returned from Ukrainian captivity in the context of exchange. These are 47 people who were captured by the Ukrainian security forces after the beginning of a special military operation.

Unfortunately, most of the guys had to experience the atrocities of Ukrainian punishers. 95% of our fighters were tortured, beaten and otherwise ill-treated. In most cases it was about torture using electric shocks.

In addition, all servicemen’s documents were confiscated and destroyed. In court, the detained fighters were forced to plead guilty, promising in return to be included in the exchange lists.

Today, the state of health of the servicemen who returned home is different. Almost everyone has problems. Many of them will have to treat complications after gunshot wounds and fractures. The necessary assistance will be provided in full.

I express my deep gratitude to everyone who took part in the release of our guys.

And also once again I draw the attention of international human rights organizations to the critical situation with respect for the rights of prisoners in Ukraine. I believe that the numerous testimonies of our servicemen are unambiguous arguments for finally taking proper response measures. The world community will actually act as an accomplice of Kiev’s war crimes by ignoring the newly revealed facts of the use of unlawful coercion against the detained participants of the special military operation.
