On May 8, a commemorative event dedicated to the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held at the memorial complex Saur-Mogila. The event was attended by the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic Daria Morozova, and employees of the Ombudsman’s Office.

Representatives of state authorities, public organizations and residents of the Republic also came to pay tribute to the heroes of the Motherland. Daria Morozova laid flowers on the eternal flame and observed a minute of silence in memory of the deceased soldiers, those who shed their blood for the liberation of Donbass during the Great Patriotic War, and soldiers of the Donetsk People’s Republic, who died during the armed confrontation with the criminal Kiev regime that usurped power as a result of the coup d’état in Ukraine in 2014.

“Today we came here to pay tribute to the heroes-defenders of Donbass, who at the cost of their own lives defended the freedom of our Motherland. With deep respect and pride, we remember all those who were not destined to return from the battlefields. We bow our heads in respect to the memory of those who gave their lives for Donbass and to those who are shedding blood for the freedom of the Donetsk People’s Republic now. The memory of the heroes of the front and rear, our legendary ancestors and brave contemporaries will always live in our hearts. We are grateful to you!” said Daria Morozova.
