In order to address the increased number of appeals from citizens related to the protection of servicemen’s rights, on 26 April the DPR Human Rights Ombudsman held a working meeting with representatives of the Directorate of People’s Militia and personnel of a military medical unit.

One of the key issues was the creation of a military medical commission, which is especially needed in the context of the ongoing military confrontation in the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic. It is supposed to be an effective mechanism aimed at protection and restoration of rights and freedoms of servicemen (including former servicemen) and their family members.

As a result of the meeting, effective solutions have been found to address each of the appeals. The Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic noted the importance of inter-agency cooperation and thanked the participants of the meeting for active promotion of restoration of rights and freedoms of DPR citizens.
