On 26 December, the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Donetsk People’s Republic Daria Morozova took part in a meeting of the Interim Commission of the DPR People’s Council on Activity Control and Coordination in the areas most affected by the armed aggression of Ukraine.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, representatives of the City Administration of Donetsk and affected citizens.
The focus of the meeting was on a draft Decree of the DPR “On the Principles of State Policy of the Donetsk People’s Republic in guaranteeing the rights and freedoms of certain categories of individuals affected as a result of hostilities”. Daria Morozova noted that the document needs some improvements for further consideration by the Head of the DPR.
In addition, of the two draft laws proposed at previous meetings related to social protection of affected citizens, the attendees supported the draft law “On internally displaced persons” developed by the Ombudsman. The document determines the status of this category of citizens, establishes economic, social and legal guarantees to protect their rights and legitimate interests in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
