Daria Morozova attends meeting of Interim Commission of DPR People’s Council

Today, on 26 September, DPR Ombudsman Daria Morozova participated in a session of the Interim Commission of the DPR People’s Council on Activity Control and Coordination in the areas most affected by the armed aggression of Ukraine.

Issues of determining the legal status of affected citizens, establishment and operation of Temporary Accommodation Centres/ Long-term Accommodation Centres in the Donetsk People’s Republic were addressed. Also, possible solutions for improving the living conditions of displaced persons were discussed.

Daria Morozova told about the number of affected citizens and those who have suffered material damage as a result of hostilities: “Currently, there are more than 7.4 thousand affected persons in the territory of the Republic (including 1.8 thousand children). More than 4.8 thousand (including 1.3 thousand children) citizens live in the housing fund, and more than 2.6 thousand (including 499 children) citizens live in social housing objects (dormitories, boarding houses, preventative clinics that have received a status of Temporary Accommodation Centres).”

As a result of the meeting, members of the Interim Commission decided to elaborate a mechanism of resolving problematic issues, to improve the existing legislation and consider the possibility of providing more social guarantees to affected citizens.
