Despite the fact that the Donetsk People’s Republic has confirmed and completed all the necessary procedures for the exchange of 8 detained persons in our territory, official Kiev, despite its statements, has not taken reciprocal steps yet. In addition, the representatives of Ukraine, on various pretexts, did not give the approval to an exchange in accordance with the format previously agreed by the parties.
Thus, it can be stated with regret that the next stage of the exchange of detained persons was thwarted solely because of the fault of Ukraine. Once again, I am shocked by the cynicism of Kiev, representatives of whoch so often come to power under the slogan of the importance of returning the detainees home, and then, having achieved what they want, they are so easily ready to abandon their people.
For this reason, for the first time in the whole practice of exchanges, we have published lists of Ukrainian criminals that our side is ready to exchange for our citizens. The people of Ukraine have the right to know the names of those who were abandoned by their chosen politicians.
In addition, based on humanitarian considerations, the DPR authorities are ready to organize admission to 8 detained persons of their relatives living in Ukraine.
Once again, I call on Kiev to reconsider its attitude and the policy of fulfilling its obligations. Such inaction and neglect of people do not bring us closer to peace, as well as they do not facilitate further dialogues on solving important issues.
