As Commissioner, I am glad to support activities aimed at helping the people of the Donetsk People’s Republic, especially children. Yesterday, a very important initiative was implemented, namely the employees of the Ombudsman’s Office handed over gifts to pupils of one of the state budgetary institutions of the DPR.
In conditions of armed conflict, minors are one of the most vulnerable categories of citizens. It is especially important at such a time to provide comprehensive support to children who have developmental disabilities or who, due to life circumstances, have been deprived of parental care and are in the care of the state.
On International Children’s Day, as part of the interaction between the Ombudsman of the DPR and citizens of the Moscow Region, gifts were handed over to the State Budgetary Institution “Shakhtersky Children’s Home for People with Mental Retardation “. The pupils of the facility received a variety of educational games: mosaics, puzzles, cubes and more. Also, children with disabilities got musical mobiles.
It should be noted that humanitarian aid has already been implemented at the initiative of fellow citizens from the capital of Russia. Thanks to their support, a kitchen electric machine was purchased for the Children’s Social Centre in the city of Khartsyzsk and kids closets for the Children’s Social Centre in the city of Shakhtersk.
I express my deep gratitude to our compatriots for their compassion, active citizenship, as well as the invaluable assistance they provide to the residents of the Republic. I hope for further fruitful cooperation, because only by working as a united front, we can achieve a lot!
