As a result of the exchange that took place yesterday between the Russian Federation and the state of Ukraine, ten representatives of the DPR were released from captivity. These are nine defenders of the Republic, as well as a priest – the rector of the Holy Kazan Church of the settlement of Yarovaya in the Krasnolimansky district. The archpriest was illegally detained by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies on charges of collaborationism in September 2022.
Now our compatriots are on the territory of one of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, where they have been provided with medical assistance. We will be taking them home soon.
I sincerely thank everyone who takes part in the implementation of the most important humanitarian task of freeing military personnel and civilians of the Republic from Ukrainian captivity.
