14 persons apply to Ombudsman Office on issues of displaced persons

The Ukrainian authorities have been violating the rights of DPR residents for four years, posing everyday risk to their lives, health, and property. Due to unrelenting shelling by the Ukrainian forces, many civilians were forced to leave their homes.

There are 7581 persons, including 1894 children under the age of eighteen, registered since the beginning of the conflict. For such people 55 temporary accommodation centres operate in the territory of the DPR. 11 of them are administered by the Ombudsman Office.

Between 7 and 13 April 2018, 14 persons have applied to the Ombudsman’s Office on issues related to internally displaced persons.

1223 IDPs now live in temporary accommodation centres of the Office, including 226 underage children. Since the beginning of the conflict 5371 referrals for temporary accommodation in the Ombudsman’s TACs have been issued, 128 of them – in 2018.
